We have an amazing group of Fellows joining the NLC family this year, and we’re excited to learn more about the issues closest to them and why they love calling Philly “home."
What are you most looking forward to when it comes to the NLC Institute?
Lauren: I am looking forward to getting to know my NLC cohort better, and growing collectively through this process. Furthermore, I am looking forward to being able to challenge myself, going beyond my comfort zone.
What are the issues closest to your heart?
Lauren: Civil rights, and diversity and inclusion are the issues closest to my heart, advocating for issues like equitable education, and voter rights.
Describe your ideal “Philly day.”
Lauren: My ideal day in Philly would begin with breakfast at Green Eggs Cafe, then I would head downtown and go shopping, and visit a museum. Following that, I would then have dinner at Pietros, and then end my night at Spruce Street Harbor Park, and South Street.
What do you love most about Philly?
Lauren: I love the diversity of the people. I also love the spontaneity, you just never know what to expect when you are traveling throughout the city.
